A kindergarten building in Yutz near Nancy which demonstrates that buildings made of wood can also accommodate free-form concepts with ease.

Challenges

Rounded building structures are key architectural components. They had to be implemented with linear elements.

Innovation

All planning was done in 3D – starting with the architects and moving on to the wooden structures and the technical planning of the building. There was a continuous exchange of data between the involved parties throughout the entire process.

Solution

Thanks to the intelligent design, the building was eventually realised with just 5 bow-shaped components, while all of the remaining geometrics could be accomplished with linear elements.

Result

The kind of kindergarten children dream of when they are not there: a superb combination of child-proof materials and child-focused planning.

The 3D planning solution paired with the intensive exchange of data between the involved parties yields signification optimisation potential for complex structures.
