Secondary school in Kissing

Category: School
Construction time: construction phase I: August 2011 to December 2011, construction phase II (connecting structure) April 2012 to June 2012

The extensive modernization of the secondary school included measures to increase energy efficiency, optimize air-conditioning and improve fire protection.

New wall elements with integrated ventilation outlets and integrated solar protection were attached to an existing steel structure. The existing fixing points of the old façade were reused.

Expertise on the benefits of the TES façade: a high degree of prefabrication, high-precision manufacturing and a resultant optimized construction process thanks to exact planning beforehand came to bear here.

Wooden-framed structural panels with fibre cement sections replaced the existing façade panels. The entire building was renovated in terms of energy efficiency.

An optically attractive school building. No overheated classrooms in summer and significantly less heat loss in winter owing to the outer shell’s improved energy performance. Climate protection - modern and innovative.

The major advantage of the timber-construction method is that it is more cost-effective with the same physical structural properties. Almost 20% was saved on costs owing to a simpler design and less preparatory work on the existing structure.
