The company built a wood structure based high-bay warehouse for this service provider, resulting in greater storage space and optimised logistics processes. The complex boasts minimal energy consumption.

Challenges

A total construction time of just three months had been allotted for the entire building – covering an area of 3,000 m² – and the foundations.

Innovation

This project comes in well below the usual energy consumption standard for industrial hangars/plants. The use of wood structures enabled this to be achieved while keeping the added costs to an absolute minimum.

Solution

Maximum possible pre-fabrication of the wood structures while steel-reinforced concrete works were under way with the aim of reducing the installation times and meeting the tight construction schedule.

Result

Grünbeck Logistics now has a logistics hall its employees enjoy working in while the energy consumption is at an absolute minimum and the exterior appearance of the building is also attractive.

Transfer

As far as commercial buildings go, energy consumption and total construction time join construction costs in being the key factors to consider. As part of a total package, wood structures offer excellent benefits.
